Summerfest weekend: local search when everyone wants it now

The first Mention Report measured how often searches now end without a click. Festival season shows why it matters.

The moment. Summerfest season. Every bar, hotel and lot near the lakefront wants to be the answer to what's happening this weekend.

What changed

The first edition of The Mention Report published in June put a number on the shift: about six in ten Google searches now end without a click, and the share is higher on phones. People get the answer and go.

Why it matters

On a festival weekend, nobody scrolls. They ask where to park, where to eat before the show and what is open late, and they act on the first answer. If your event, hours and location are not stated plainly, you are not in that answer.

About 6 in 10Google searches ended without a click, per the June Mention Report.

What to do this week

  1. Give every event its own page with the date, time, place and price written out.
  2. Post this weekend's hours on your Google Business Profile, not just your website.
  3. Ask partners and local event calendars to list you. AI tools read those too.
